R | Hikikomori – Installation & Performance, „Apotheke“, Mainz (2018)
2018년 6월 13일부터 7월 15일까지, 마인츠의 실험 예술공간 **„Apotheke“**에서 이은우(Eunhyung M. Lee)와 허내훈(Naehoon Huh)의 설치 퍼포먼스 프로젝트 **「Hikikomori」**가 개최되었다.
이 전시는 **마인츠시 문화부(Kulturbüro Mainz)**의 지원과 **마인츠 미술대학(Kunsthochschule Mainz)**의 협업으로 이루어졌으며, 공간 개관 당시 문화부장이 직접 축사를 전했다.
작품은 일본의 사회적 고립 현상 ‘히키코모리’를 바탕으로, 디지털 시대의 단절과 소통의 역설을 탐구했다.
관람객은 공간 내부의 모니터와 키보드를 통해 작가와 실시간으로 소통하며, 고립과 연결의 경계를 체험하도록 구성되었다. 전시는 Allgemeine Zeitung Mainz 등 현지 언론에 소개되며, 사회적 고립을 예술적 언어로 재해석한 실험적 시도로 평가받았다.

From June 13 to July 15, 2018, the installation-performance project “Hikikomori” by Eunu (Eunhyung M.) Lee and Naehoon Huh was presented at the experimental art space “Apotheke” in Mainz.
The project was realized through the support of the Department of Culture of the City of Mainz (Kulturbüro Mainz) in collaboration with the Kunsthochschule Mainz, with an opening address delivered by the city’s Cultural Affairs Director.
Inspired by Japan’s phenomenon of social withdrawal, the work examined the paradox of isolation and communication in the digital era.
Visitors interacted with the artists in real time via monitors and keyboards, experiencing the tension between physical seclusion and virtual connectivity.
Featured in the Allgemeine Zeitung Mainz, the project was recognized as an experimental exploration of social alienation through the lens of contemporary art.

**「Der Schein trügt」**는 조각, 사운드, 영상, 퍼포먼스가 결합된 예술 페스티벌이었다.
이은우 작가는 석고, 파편 재료를 이용한 나무 캐스팅 조형물 설치 작업을 통해 자연의 잔존과 물질의 층위를 탐구했으며, 공간 전체를 매개로 한 조형적 긴장감을 연출했다.
전시는 rubrecht contemporary, Stadtleben.de, Sensor Magazin 등에 보도되었으며, ‘겉모습에 속지 말라’는 주제를 중심으로 시각과 청각의 인식을 교차시켰다.

From October 5 to 7, 2018, the art festival “Der Schein trügt” was held at Frankfurter Oststern, featuring installations, sound art, video, and performance.
Eunu Lee presented an installations using casting from plaster, and fragmented materials, exploring the residue of nature and the layered materiality of form.

2016년 11월 16일부터 2017년 1월 8일까지, 독일 마인츠 시청 앞 Jockel-Fuchs-Platz에서 이은우(은형) 작가는 설치 작품 **「#9 You Press the Button」**을 선보였다.
이 작업은 시민과 관광객이 사진을 찍는 행위를 관찰하며 “우리는 왜 사진을 찍는가?”라는 질문을 던지는 조각 설치 프로젝트로, 카메라와 삼각대를 콘크리트로 고정한 형태로 구현되었다.
작가는 사라지는 순간과 남겨진 흔적 사이의 관계를 탐구하며, ‘시간의 응결’이라는 주제를 시공간적으로 시각화했다.

From November 16, 2016, to January 8, 2017, Eunu (Eunhyung) Lee presented the installation “#9 You Press the Button” at Jockel-Fuchs-Platz in front of Mainz City Hall.
The cement sculpture, composed of tripods and cameras, questioned the act of photographing—“Why do people take pictures?”—capturing the paradox between presence and disappearance.
Through this work, Lee visualized the condensation of time, exploring photography as both a record and a trace of vanished moments.
