Maybe This Way, Mr. Water Deer

허내훈과 이은우의 『아마도 이쪽입니다, 고라니씨.』는 인간이 설계한 ‘생태통로’를 통해 비인간 존재와의 공존 가능성을 비판적으로 고찰하는 전시이다. 생태통로는 단절된 생태계를 연결하는 장치로 여겨지지만, 작가들은 그것이 오히려 인간의 공간 질서에 따라 비인간 존재를 통제하고 종속시키는 구조임을 드러낸다. 동물을 위한 듯 보이는 이 구조물은 사실 인간의 안전과 질서를 중심으로 설계된 통로이며, 비인간 존재의 자율성은 배제된 채 관리되고 제한된 ‘길’만이 허용된다.

“Maybe This Way, Mr. Water Deer” by Naehoon Huh and Eunu Lee is an exhibition that critically examines the possibility of coexistence between humans and nonhuman beings through the lens of man-made “ecological corridors.” While such corridors are often regarded as devices that reconnect fragmented ecosystems, the artists reveal them instead as structures that regulate and subordinate nonhuman existence within human spatial order. These pathways, seemingly built for animals, are in fact designed around human safety and control—allowing only managed and restricted routes, while excluding the autonomy of nonhuman life.
